Description
Dark, epic and precise, but also playful and unpredictable
Krokofant celebrates the double album 7. This is the very day Krokofant releases the double album 7 – a raw, energetic and personal album that marks the start of a new chapter for the band. They celebrate the release with a tour that starts with us, new music full of punch, contrasts and musical freedom.
The album and tour come in the wake of the loss of drummer Axel Skalstad, who passed away in 2025. For Krokofant, 7 therefore marks not only a new musical chapter, but also a release with strong personal significance. At the same time, Axel's power and musicality live on in the band's expression and in the music he helped create.
As usual, the audience can expect an intense mix of jazz, prog rock and heavy, riff-based rock. Dark and epic riffs, explosive outbursts, fat grooves and open passages where the music develops freely in the moment. With the new lineup featuring Ole Mofjell on drums and Rune Nergaard on bass, Krokofant has found a fresh and cohesive expression. It sounds massive and precise, but also playful and unpredictable – with plenty of room for improvisation and spontaneous turns.
7 gathers material the band has worked on over time, ranging from hard-hitting and intense tracks to more open and exploratory landscapes. The album draws lines through all of Krokofant's history, while clearly pointing forward. The album naturally calls for a concert to celebrate, and Krokofant couldn’t be more excited. Neither could we!
